A day that claims equality, freedom and respect in a festive and familiar atmosphere
Diversity has once again taken center stage this weekend in the streets of Palamós with the celebration of a new edition of Proud Palamós, an initiative that, any rere any, consolidates its role as one of the most representative acts in defense of the rights of the LGTBIQ+ collective in the Baix Empordà. Throughout the day, neighbors, families, young people and visitors shared living spaces, culture and vindication in a celebration marked by respect, inclusion and citizen participation.
The event turned several public spaces in the municipality into a meeting point where music, family activities, artistic performances and awareness spaces went hand in hand with a clear message: continue to move towards a society where all people can live their identity and sexual orientation with full freedom and without discrimination.
The atmosphere was particularly familiar throughout the day. Many people took advantage of the different activities to participate with children, turning the celebration into an opportunity to foster values such as respect, coexistence and equality from an early age. The flags of the rainbow, the colors and vindictive messages filled the streets and squares, providing an image of an open municipality committed to diversity.
